We have a pair of 1956 and a pair of 1957 Mercury Mark 55 40+ HP classic outboard motors. The motors in both sets are electric start with alternatiors and are the ultra rare "long shaft" (for 20" transoms) versions. The performance and Ar Deco styling of the Mark 55's make them highly sought after for mid-century runabouts

These motors are complete and turn with compression. All castings are in good condition. To make these motors operational, expect at minimun to have to re-new the water pump impellers, spark plugs, fuel pump diaphrams, fuel hoses and to change the gearcase oil and rebuild the carburetors. For a complete restoration, they should be disassembled and painted or powder-coated to suit

We can supply new electrical harness and a good used remote controls at extra cost
